Tanatoniato emerges from the author’s self-imposed demands in his creative process. Based on the premise of still life, it utilizes autofiction and the vanitas genre as a “tool for personal salvation.” This practice highlights the photographer’s vanity, employing memento mori as a reminder to appreciate the creative process. The series includes a satirical text about solanine and presents, in a sequential format, the banal act of eating a sweet potato, establishing a parallel with Baroque painting.
